Points To Be Considered When Going For Newborn Circumcision

By Richard Rogers

Every parent would like a situation whereby they get to receive their bundle of joy. It is a gift from God since he is the one that gives children. In most cases, parents normally develop fondness for their children even before they are born. That is why they subject themselves to going for prior tests and scan to tell if they are expecting a boy or a girl. After ascertaining that their bundle of joy is a boy, they need to take some critical measures into account. First, they need to be familiar with the term newborn circumcision.

Both Islam and Christian doctrines practice circumcision for various reasons. In fact, Christianity emphasizes on the practice since it is a sign of cleanliness. Just from reading scriptures from the bible, one can easily trace verses that mention something to do with male children who went through the knife. It is quite evident that the old practice has deeply sunk in the modern world.

Different people may opt for the practice due to many reasons. It can be because their religious affiliations preach on the same. On the other hand, someone can just make a personal decision after going through health reports. Those who are lucky to accept it can go a qualified medical practitioner who will conduct the procedure using safe instruments.

According to general knowledge, baby boys are normally born with foreskins on their private parts. During the activity, the foreskin is cut thus exposing the head of the penis. The cut may take a few days to heal depending on the immune system of the individual.

One area that has embraced the practice is none other than the US. It has a recorded a number of circumcised beneficiaries placing them at 55% to 65%. On average, that is quite a commendable number. On the other hand, the western region is the one area that has recorded the lowest number of clients as compared to the North Central America which has the highest number. Other parts such as Latin America, Asia, Europe and Central America have also recorded very few cases.

Before the one starts to operate on an individual, they need to take them through the procedures involved. They can inform them on possible risks that may be involved in the event. That way, they are protecting their integrity as a health practitioner and assuring the parents that the baby is in safe hands.

All male children have the right to be circumcised despite their age. However, there are limited factors such as deformities in the sexual organ or prematurely born babies. Both the cases are very delicate in nature and the children need to be exempted from being circumcised. In this case, the operation can be delayed to pave way for corrective measures.

It is for the benefit of the both the parent and the male child if they go for the operation. They are advised to take their children to be circumcised before they take them home. Science has proven that circumcised male children are less prone to diseases such as urinary tract infections and sexually transmitted infections.
